Brain Button

Brain Button – Update DAIA Knowledge

Starts the analysis of the DEON project. When you open the DAIA panel for the first time in a DEON project, you will be automatically asked if you want to start the analysis.

Each time the project content changes, the button turns red. To update the knowledge, press the red button. The update only processes the changed content.

Trash Button

Trash Button – Delete Current Knowledge

Use this button if you believe that the knowledge was not generated correctly, or if a major DAIA update has been released and DEON recommends deleting old knowledge to enable better quality with the new version.

MS Copilot

Microsoft Copilot activate (M365 Grounding)
Enables the connection to your Microsoft 365 Copilot. When this feature is active, DAIA uses the Microsoft Graph to safely answer your questions based on your internal company data (such as Outlook emails, Teams chats, SharePoint and OneDrive files).
On first activation a dialog opens for authentication

Graph Chat

DEON Graph Chat Mode

If you activate this button, your chat conversation will be created as a graph within the DEON Workspace. This graph representation of your chat is visible to all users who have access to this project.

DAIA Button

Opens or closes the DAIA panel.

Desktop App

DEON Desktop App

This is the DEON Desktop App. Available for Windows and macOS.

Graph Chat Workspace

DEON Graph Chat in Workspace

The DEON Graph Chat within the DEON Workspace. It consists of DEON text elements and connections. You can edit and modify them freely like normal text elements. This allows you to use the results of your DAIA conversations to create new content in DEON.

Note: If you want to change the width of the DEON Graph Chat text elements, you can change the width of a text element by dragging the handles on the edges – the following text elements of the ongoing conversation will adjust to this width.

Branching

Graph Chat – Branching

If you click on a section (textbox) of your DEON Graph Chat (single click), this section becomes the current conversation position of the DAIA Chat Panel. This can be both a prompt and an answer from the conversation.

If you continue your conversation from this position, a new branch will be created in the DEON Graph Chat within the Workspace.

By clicking on sections of a DEON Graph Chat, you can switch between different conversation branches and the main branch. The DAIA Panel always displays the currently selected conversation branch.

This allows you to structure complex discussions and easily keep track of them. In addition, the context of each conversation branch remains clean and focused on the main topic, rather than mixing topics. This also leads to a better quality of AI responses.

Chat Conversation

DAIA Chat Conversation

In your DAIA Panel, your chat conversation appears as prompt and response bubbles in a scrollable view.

Tip: You can drag and drop both prompts and responses from the panel into the DEON Workspace to convert them into regular DEON text blobs and edit them further.

You can also select text within a bubble and drag only the selected text into the workspace.

Reference Button

Reference Button

Click on it to navigate to the content within the project that was used to generate the DAIA response.

Multiple reference buttons may appear. Each button displays the percentage of relevance of the referenced content to your question.

Prompt Bricks

Prompt Bricks

Prompt Bricks are predefined prompt elements that you can click to use as shortcuts for prompting. For example, "Translate" or "Summarize".

Some bricks cause related bricks to appear. For example, "Translate" causes bricks like "English", "German", and other language bricks to appear.

Prompt Field

Prompt Input Field

Enter your prompt in the prompt field here.

Send Button

Send Prompt

Send your prompt. You can also simply press Enter on your keyboard.

While DAIA generates the answer, this button turns into a stop button (square symbol), with which you can cancel the generation.

Eye Button

Eye Button – Viewport Context

The Eye Button is disabled by default (closed eye symbol). When you activate it (the symbol then shows an open eye), DAIA sees your current viewport. You can then talk to DAIA about the content of the viewport.

The knowledge of the entire project is still available to DAIA, but DAIA will process your question in the context of the viewport.

If the eye is closed, DAIA processes your questions in the context of the entire project. The eye closes automatically after DAIA has answered your question.

Note: In addition to the Eye function, you can simply select content (text, images, documents, websites, and more) within the DEON Workspace to include the selected content in the current context of your DAIA conversation. A message above the prompt input field in the DAIA Panel informs you about this behavior as soon as you select something within the DEON Workspace.

Credits

Remaining DAIA Credits

In the free plan, you receive a certain number of free credits every month. These credits expire at the end of the month and are not carried over. You can top up your credits at any time.

In a paid plan, your monthly credit allowance is included in your subscription and replaces the free credits from the free plan. The credits included in the paid plan do not expire and are carried over to the next month.

To top up your credits, click on the text to open your account page in a web browser.

New Conversation

Start a New Conversation

Start a new conversation with DAIA.

It is recommended to start a new conversation or branch the current conversation if the topic of the new question is not the main topic of the conversation.

The DAIA panel is your command center for AI interactions in DEON.

It is located as a fold-out bar on the right edge of the screen. Here, you control the analysis of your project, ask questions, and start generative processes.

By the way: You can find inspiration for the productive use of DAIA and DEON Graph-Chat here:

Project Knowledge & Context

  1. Activate project knowledge („The Brain“)"

Before you can ask questions about the content of your project, the AI must capture the data structure once.

  • Start analysis:
When you open the DAIA panel in a new project or import content, you will be asked if the project should be analyzed. Click on Yes or on the “Brain” symbol at the top of the panel to build up the knowledge.
  • Update Knowledge:
When you change or add content to the project, the "Brain" symbol lights up red. Press it again to process only the changes and keep the knowledge up to date.
  • Delete Knowledge:
With the trash can symbol, you can delete the stored knowledge if you wish to perform a complete re-analysis.
  1. Control context: What should the AI talk about?

You can control what the AI's responses should refer to:

  • Entire Project:
By default, DAIA refers to the entire analyzed knowledge in the project.
  • Current Viewport ("The Eye"):
Activate the eye symbol at the bottom of the panel. The AI now "sees" exactly what you have on your screen (viewport) and primarily relates your answers to this visual section. The eye closes automatically after the response.
  • Selection:
When you click on specific elements (e.g., an image or text) in the Workspace (selecting), the AI automatically understands that your next command (e.g., "Translate this" or "Create a variation") refers to this selection.
  1. Connect corporate knowledge (Microsoft Copilot)
If you use MS Copilot, you can extend the AI's knowledge beyond the current project by using your internal company data to answer questions.
  • Activate Copilot:
Click at the top of the DAIA panel (next to the Graph-Chat icon) on the Copilot switch.
  • Authentication:
During the first activation, a separate dialog window opens. Here you securely sign in with your Microsoft credentials to establish the connection.
  • M365 Grounding:
When the function is active, DAIA uses Microsoft Graph as an additional AI endpoint. The AI now answers your questions also based on your personal and organizational company data, such as emails from Outlook, Teams chats as well as SharePoint and OneDrive files.
  • Disable Copilot:
You can deactivate the connection at any time using the same switch. DAIA then primarily refers back to the analyzed project knowledge for its answers.

Interaction & Chat

  1. Interaction and Chat
  • Enter Prompt:
Type your question or instruction in the input field below and press Enter or the Send arrow. While the response is being generated, the arrow turns into a Stop symbol, which you can use to cancel the process.
  • Prompt Bricks:
Use pre-built commands (Shortcuts) like "Translate" or "Summarize", which appear as clickable building blocks above the input field.
  • Verify Sources (Grounding):
Among many answers, you will find reference buttons (with percentages for relevance). A click on it zooms the workspace directly to the location (document, table, note) from which the information originates.
  1. Graph Chat: Discussion in the Workspace

To discuss complex topics clearly, you can move the chat from the sidebar to the Workspace.

  • Enable Graph Chat:
Click on the Graph Chat icon at the top of the panel. Your conversation will now appear as a chain of text boxes directly on the board and is visible to all participants.
  • Branching:
Click on any node (question or answer) in the graph on the board. The DAIA panel jumps back to this point in the conversation. If you now ask a new question, a new branch is created. This keeps the main thread clean and allows for thematic side paths.

Create & Export Content

  1. Use and create content
  • Drag & Drop:
You can drag and drop any answer bubble or your own questions from the chat panel directly into the workspace. They will become normal, editable DEON text labels.
  • Image Generation:
Use commands like 'Create an image of…' to place generated images directly in the workspace.
  • Export:
Since Graph Chat elements are native DEON objects, you can format them and export them via the context menu (right-click > Share/Export) to, for example, PowerPoint, PDF, or ODP.
  1. Manage credits

The use of AI consumes so-called "Credits". Your current balance is displayed below in the panel. In paid plans, these credits roll over to the next month; in free plans, they expire at the end of the month.
